Charge Nurse:
The charge nurse is in charge of a specific shift of dialysis patients. The nurse works with the physician in meeting the medical treatment goals of the patient. They are responsible for directing and supervising patient care staff to assure that patient treatment is delivered in a safe and effective manner.
Direct Patient Care staff consist of:
Registered
Nurse (R.N.)
Licensed
Vocational Nurse (L.V.N.)
Nursing Staff:
The nurses direct and supervise patient care technicians in the delivery of the patient treatment. They work with the patient and family to plan the care of the patient and to establish patient goals.
Patient Care Technician:
The P.C.T provides dialysis treatments to the patient. This includes vital signs, monitoring the patient and the equipment, initiating and terminating the dialysis treatment and reporting problems or concerns to the nurse.
Mechanical Tech:
The mechanical tech/equipment technician assists the Chief technician in the maintenance and repair of medical equipment, dialysis machines, mechanical/electrical systems and the water treatment system. Their primary goal is to ensure safety of patients and staff.
